The International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) is a professional association dedicated to issues relevant to the management of public assembly venues. Members of the association manage public assembly venues such as amphitheatres, arenas, auditoria, convention centres/exhibition halls, performing arts venues, stadia and university complexes; or provide products, services or attractions to support the industry. IAAM has more than 3,600 members worldwide.
IAAM produces an annual conference and trade show that serves industry professionals from around the world and offers numerous educational and networking opportunities. Throughout the year, IAAM produces venue-specific speciality meetings for those involved in the management of arenas, convention centres, performing arts theatres and stadia, as well as a crowd management conference, the Academy for Venue Safety & Security, and professional schools at the Public Assembly Facility Management School and the Graduate Institute.
IAAM continues to expand its portfolio of offerings in order to meet the needs of today’s professional. Webinars on relevant topics such as H1N1 flu and sustainability are but two examples. Social networking platforms continue to evolve to enable practitioners to communicate with each other. A mentor/protégé programme pairs up those who wish to share their knowledge with those seeking to improve themselves in the industry. As times change, IAAM will be at the forefront with changes of its own to ensure that the association is relevant and necessary for those engaged in public assembly facility management.
