STADEDEFRANCE Live Events to produce and market shows for stadia

Consortium Stade de France has launched STADEFRANCE Live Events – a dedicated subsidiary to produce and market shows tailored for large venues. Consortium Stade de France has been creating and producing its own stadium-scale live shows since 2001.

The shows offered by STADEFRANCE Live Events – which include both original creations (such as Keltic Nights, Beethoven, and UNIGHTED) and adaptations (such as Carmen, Turandot, and Ben Hur) – are designed to make optimal use of the size and layout of stadium venues. The focus is on 360° shows using 10,000m2 stages, with a high degree of creative input.

As well as creating and providing shows, STADEFRANCE Live Events offers programming & strategy consulting services to stadia wishing to target a broader audience and make optimal use of their venues.

Jean-Christophe Giletta, who has been at the helm of major events and productions at Stade de France since 1998, has been appointed chairman of the new venuture. “STADEFRANCE Live Events draws on the experience that Stade de France has built up creating and innovating over the past decade,” he said. “There are 90 new multifunctional stadiums on the plans for 2013 around the world – that’s 5 million seats to fill. So value-packed content with a distinctive touch for large venues is an opportunity waiting to be tapped!”

Consortium Stade de France was recently appointed as long-term operator of Cape Town’s Green Point Stadium, a FIFA 2010 World Cup venue.
