Rubb Buildings delivers new sports hall

Rubb Buildings has delivered a sports hall for Erins Own Lavey GAC in Gulladuff, Northern Ireland. Working closely with McGurk Chartered Architects, the BVE Sports Hall (partly funded by Sport N.I.) had to deliver the best environment for Gaelic football, hurling and camogie competitions.

The sports hall is 35m wide by 60m long, and includes high-volume inner walls. The backbone of the building is a structural framing system. All welded components are treated post-production with hot dip galvanising to provide corrosion protection, with the truss frame construction creating the platform for the clear span and high-volume walls. The use of white semi-translucent roof fabric provides a light, bright and airy atmosphere. All services are fully integrated with lighting, ventilation and dehumidification systems.
