Sale Sharks launches fundraising initiative

Rugby Union premiership team Sale Sharks has launched its Rugby at the Reebok Community Fundraising Initiative, which aims to raise more than £15,000 for community rugby. The initiative is available for schools, clubs and voluntary organisations purchasing more than 20 tickets for the Aviva Premiership game between Sale Sharks and London Irish at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton on 16 April 2011. The organisation will then receive cash-back for every ticket sold.

Sale Sharks are offering a ‘Be the Sharks for a Week’ prize for the organisation that sells the most tickets to Rugby at the Reebok. The prize includes training sessions with the first team coaches using state-of-the-art GPS equipment at the Sharks’ Carrington training ground and the chance to be part of the behind-the-scenes build-up to an actual Sale Sharks match at Edgeley Park.

Sharks head coach Mike Brewer said: “The whole club is working together to ensure that Rugby at the Reebok is a success and the coaching and playing staff want to play an integral part in this.”

Dave Southern, NW RFU regional development manager, said: “I am fully supportive of Rugby at the Reebok and its aim to not only be the premier club rugby event in the North of England, but also to provide an excellent focal point to further grow and develop rugby union and Sale Sharks in the region. This can only be achieved with the support of the whole rugby community.”
