Daktronics and the Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that fans of the team and other visitors to the renovated Tampa Bay Times Forum will soon enjoy watching the largest high-definition video displays in any US or Canadian arena.
The new suspended system will include four large video displays using the latest Daktronics video technology in a rectangular configuration. The two largest displays will be approximately 28ft high and 50ft wide. With 1,296 lines of resolution, the largest two displays will present live and recorded video in true high definition, with the capability to show multiple zones of content, creating a digital canvas upon which to present video, animation, graphics, scores and statistics in unlimited layouts.
The two smaller suspended displays will be positioned at the ends of the larger displays, creating great viewing for all fans in the venue. Measuring approximately 28ft high and 20ft wide, these are tapered at the bottom.
Each screen utilises the latest surface-mount LED display technology and will present imagery in 144 quadrillion shades of colour. Nearly six million individual LEDs will populate the two larger screens, tightly spaced together on 6mm (0.24in) centre-to-centre pixel spacing (pixel pitch is also 6mm on the end displays). The technology from Daktronics also boasts impressive contrast ratios and super-wide viewing angles.
In late 2011, Daktronics added 14 digital LED ribbon boards inside the seating bowl and concourse areas within the arena. In addition, the company provided a digital dashboard at ice level. These will be integrated with the new centre-hung displays to provide a true super system controlled with Daktronics’ established control system.

Brazil's Morumbi stadium is undergoing an extensive modernisation project that will increase the venue's flexibility, improve safety and increase spectator comfort.
