TIAA Bank Field makes move to fully digital tickets

The NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars has said goodbye to physical, paper tickets after announcing a permanent switch to mobile ticketing at TIAA Bank Field in Florida.

From the beginning of the 2018 season, all fan entry into the stadium will be via digital tickets sent to mobile devices before the game.

Since 2015 the NFL has been gradually introducing the transition to digital ticketing across teams and following a successful stadium-wide roll-out during the Jaguars’ home playoff game last January, the team has made the decision to fully commit.

“The benefits of mobile ticketing to our fans cannot be overstated,” said Chad Johnson, Jaguars chief content officer and senior vice president of sales and service.

“A digital ticket speeds up the entry process, provides a convenient way to send or sell tickets to friends, and significantly reduces the risk of lost, stolen, counterfeit or forgotten tickets.”

“The Jaguars and our stadium partners were very pleased with the quick and smooth ingress during our playoff game last season, which featured one of the largest crowds we’ve had in years,” said Johnson.

“Along with the overwhelmingly positive response from fans, we’re confident now is the time to make this transition permanent.”

The mobile ticketing platform has been designed in conjunction with Ticketmaster and is said to offer customers more convenience in managing their tickets.

Using an official app, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android devices, fans can buy tickets as well as have the chance to sell tickets or transfer them to friends or family.
