Daktronics has once again partnered with StubHub Center in Los Angeles, California, to design, manufacture and install 10 new LED displays as the state-of-the-art facility improves its fan experience for the MLS’s LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL. The new displays, comprising an additional LED video scoreboard and nine ribbon displays, will add to the overall entertainment experience by providing an additional 5,000ft² of display space.

“A key element of our philosophy is to continually reinvest in StubHub Center with the focus on our fan experience at our facility,” said Katie Pandolfo, general manager at StubHub Center.

“Working with Daktronics on these additional improvements cements StubHub Center as a top venue in North America. We worked closely with the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Chargers to implement these new LED displays to improve the experience at StubHub Center which will greatly impact our fans, partners and local community.”

The new video display will be installed in the south end of the venue and will measure approximately 20.5ft high by 53ft wide to complement the existing main video display on the north end of the stadium which is the largest in professional soccer in North America. The south display will feature a 13HD pixel layout to provide crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility. It also features industry-leading environmental protection for consistent performance in the outdoor elements.

The display is capable of variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays and other video features as well as up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.

“We appreciate the opportunity to continue to partner with everyone at StubHub Center and AEG on this project,” said Robin Hall, Daktronics regional sales manager.

“These new LED displays will add to the fan experience and enhance the overall live event production for the teams the venue hosts along with their fans and sponsors. The main video display is one of the most impressive in the world and this project will add to an already premier facility. We look forward to working hard to serve them on this project.”

Nine ribbon displays will feature 15HD pixel layouts and will be installed along the seating fascia on the south, east and west sides of the stadium to provide supplemental content to the main display. The additional 988ft linear of ribbon displays will also provide the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events while enhancing the fans experience.

With the new displays, StubHub Center is receiving new and upgraded control equipment including Daktronics new VP-6000 processors which provide tailored control for the unique shapes and aspect ratios of the LED displays inside the stadium.
