Scottish soccer side Aberdeen FC’s new £50m (US$64m) Kingsford Stadium build will include a new £11.5m (US$15m) training complex, for which Morrison Construction will be principal contractor.
The new community sports hub and soccer training facilities will include a training pavilion, three professional training pitches, two 3G pitches, one grass pitch and groundsman’s accommodation.
Scottish contractor Morrison Construction will take control of the site at Kingsford as soon as the earthworks are finished and manage the construction through to completion, which is expected by 2019.
Aberdeen FC announced the appointment following the raising of £8.5m (US$11m) to bring to the total cost of £11.5m to cover the cost of the upgraded specification 3G pitches, which includes irrigation, and a hybrid surface with undersoil heating on one of the professional pitches.
