Real Salt Lake continues relationship with Daktronics for enhanced LED experience At Zions Bank Real Academy

US soccer franchise Real Salt Lake has continued a long-standing relationship with Daktronics for new LED displays at the organization’s facilities in Salt Lake City, Utah. Zions Bank Real Academy (ZBRA), a Herriman-based facility housing daily training activities for multiple soccer teams – including Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs – will receive two large displays as well as a pitch perimeter installation.

Furthermore, Real Salt Lake has added six displays on the outside of its State Street facility. In total, this offers the franchise 2,600ft² of digital display space. The first displays were installed in spring, while the final display will be completed this autumn.

“Daktronics manufactures a great product and their people have always been phenomenal to work with, which is why we are pleased to once again be partnering with them,” said Craig Martin, general manager and vice president of stadium operations.

“Brightening up Rio Tinto Stadium’s frontage with six of their new 6mm exterior displays will add to the stadium’s overall dynamic, while also allowing us to provide incremental inventory for our corporate partners.

“In terms of the new state-of-the-art Zions Bank Real Academy, we chose various display types and sizes to complement the facility. Our patrons will see all of these very prominently whether they’re inside the 210,000ft² indoor field house or in the new Zions Bank Stadium, home of the Real Monarchs.”

At ZBRA, home of the Monarchs, two new LED displays featuring 13HD pixel layouts were installed in the spring of 2017. The main video display measures 13ft high by 48ft wide and a pitch perimeter display measures 2.5ft high by 360ft wide.

At the indoor field house at ZBRA, an LED video display and scoring equipment will be installed this autumn. The display will measure 19.5ft high by 34.5ft wide and will feature 15mm line spacing while the three fixed-digit scoreboards will each measure 5ft high by 10ft wide.

“We’re excited to continue our long-standing relationship with Real Salt Lake to provide new displays for the Zions Bank Real Academy,” said Robin Hall, Daktronics regional sales manager. “This is an amazing facility that will bring an awesome personal experience to fans for the events. We’re looking forward to a wonderful LED presentation.”

This summer, six new displays were installed outside the Rio Tinto Stadium. Featuring 6mm line spacing, these will increase awareness of upcoming events and sponsor messages. Four of these displays measure 7ft high by 9.5ft wide, while two displays measure 6ft high by 9.5ft wide.
