Louisville City FC announces naming rights for new stadium

USL soccer club Louisville City FC has announced its new US$65m new home has secured a naming rights partner and will be named the Lynn Family stadium.

Dr Mark and Cindy Lynn, who are influential members of the city’s community also have their name above the University of Louisville’s soccer stadium, have committed to a 10-year naming rights deal.

“We are thrilled to be able to contribute not only to the development and appreciation of soccer but to the Louisville community as a whole,” said Dr Mark and Cindy Lynn. “We have been fans of Louisville City FC since its inception, so this truly fits what we are passionate about. We could not be more honored in helping Louisville City FC erect a stadium built for soccer where the city can come together to enjoy the fastest growing sport in America.”

It is the team’s last season playing home games at Slugger Field and will move into a new 14,000-seater, soccer-specific stadium being built east of downtown Louisville. The venue’s construction is part of a Messer-Harmon JV and is set to be completed by the spring of 2020 and in time for the 2020-2021 USL season.

“Lynn Family Stadium will be a cathedral for soccer in downtown Louisville,” Louisville City Head Coach John Hackworth said. “The design and layout of this stadium is incredible, and I can’t wait to lead my team onto the field inside our new home in 2020.”
