The iconic Georgia Dome in Atlanta is scheduled for demolition before January 2018. The arena was built in 1992 for a then US$214m and was home to NFL team the Atlanta Falcons before the club took the decision to build a new venue, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Demolition of the dome will be completed before college football’s national championship game comes to the new Falcons stadium in January of 2018, AJC reports.
