France’s tennis federation (the Fédération Française de Tennis / FFT) has been granted approval for the construction of a new tennis stadium at Roland-Garros, in Paris, reports Sky Sports.
Despite objections from environmental groups – centered on the proximity of the new development to a nearby botanical garden – French authorities have greenlit the proposal for a new, 5,000-seat stadium. The expansion plans will see the Roland-Garros site go from 21 acres to 34 acres.
