The St Louis Cardinals have selected Daktronics to provide new LED video display technology. The new main display, ribbon displays and out-of-town display are currently being installed at Busch Stadium, in St Louis, Missouri, USA.

“New scoreboards have been on our radar for the last few years,” said Joe Abernathy, vice president of stadium operations. “The improvements will allow us to do much more in regards to in-game fan video and social engagement.”

Totaling 4,800ft², the new main video display measures 40ft high by 120ft wide and features a 13HD pixel layout, the premier outdoor technology for sun-cutting brightness to provide crisp, clear imagery. The display will be approximately three times larger than the previous display with twice the resolution. It will feature wide-angle visibility to provide a great view to fans throughout the stadium.

“Daktronics is proud to continue our long-standing relationship with the St Louis Cardinals to upgrade the video technology at Busch Stadium,” said Daktronics regional manager Tony Mulder. “These enhancements are sure to improve an already amazing game-day atmosphere at baseball’s highest level of competition. We’re excited to see the final product entertaining Cardinals fans this upcoming season.”

The installation includes an out-of-town display measuring 40ft high by 81ft wide and featuring a 13HD pixel layout. This display will show updates from other games from around the league.

The other nine displays will be installed along the seating fascia covering a length of 565ft. These display feature a 15HD pixel layout and provide the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events as well as provide supplemental content to the main display.
