SAP Center installs Daktronics LED video displays

The SAP Center, home to the National Hockey League’s San Jose Sharks in California, has installed 17 Daktronics narrow pitch pixel (NPP) displays throughout its concourses as well as two new marquee displays outside the venue.

The 17 NPP displays all measure nearly 3.5ft tall and range from 12ft to 32ft wide, with one large display spanning nearly 66ft wide.

These displays feature 2.5mm line spacing for extremely close viewing distances while maintaining crystal clear images and video quality for people as near as 6ft away from the screen.

The displays will be integrated into existing video displays and game-day presentation to complement the signage, such as the centerhung and fascia, throughout the venue.

The two marquee displays outside the SAP Center’s south entrance each measure 20.5ft high by 19ft wide and feature 10mm line spacing, creating a crisp, clear display to welcome fans to the venue and promote upcoming events and sponsors.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with SAP Center to provide these NPP displays in their concourse,” said Robin Hall, Daktronics regional manager.

“This will allow them to further enhance their goals for fan engagement throughout their venue. Connecting with fans while they’re away from their seats has become a vital aspect of the live event experience.

“As well as being the home of the San Jose Sharks, the SAP Center hosts many other events, and these displays will allow the arena the flexibility to cater their content for each type of event they may be hosting, and reach fans throughout the building.”
