Staten Island Yankees adds Daktronics display to game-day experience

The Staten Island Yankees and Richmond County Bank Ballpark have asked Daktronics to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display for left field at their venue in Staten Island, New York. The display was recently installed and is currently being used to entertain Yankees fans at baseball events this summer.

“Daktronics was honest and helpful throughout every step of this process,” says Will Smith, team president and operating partner. “The new screen includes the appropriate operating software, data and support. Peter Dunkle was, and still is, a dedicated representative of the company and a detailed guide. I always felt he represented our best interests. This product was much needed for Richmond County Bank Ballpark, and we look forward to this new partnership with Daktronics that will hopefully include additional displays in the future.”

The new screen measures 27.5ft high by 38.5ft wide for a total of approximately 1,060ft² of video display space. It features a 15HD pixel layout to provide crisp, clear images with wide angle visibility to appeal to every fan in the stadium.

The display is capable of variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be separated into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replay, statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

“We’re proud to provide the Staten Island Yankees with this new video display and front-end video system,” said Dunkle. “It is a significant addition to one of the prettiest ballparks you can find, Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The screen adds a whole new dimension for the fans and will be an integral part of the exciting game day experience.”
