The new Roland-Garros: How the stadium was modernized

0

Roland-Garros Stadium is the host for one of the biggest tennis grand slam tournaments, however its past has been troubled by rain, poor light, and not having a roof to protect players and fans from bad weather.

After several phases of building work, which began back in autumn 2015, the modernization project initiated by the French Tennis Federation in 2011 is finally complete.

The biggest addition is a retractable roof that will allow play to continue no matter what the weather, as well as the venue being greener, more spacious and more modern, while having preserved its unique atmosphere and character.

This video documents the efforts made to deliver a brand-new Roland-Garros.
