HG Sports Turf completes contract at Singapore National Stadium

Following a three-year tenure, HG Sports Turf (HGST) has completed its contract work at the Singapore National Stadium. Pitch solutions, including maintenance, are now being handled by local company TEHC International.

HGST, which was responsible for the management of the stadium’s playing surface, introduced its ‘ready to play’ turf system, which has been used during events such as the Southeast Asian Games, Barclays Premier League Asia Trophy, the International Champions Cup, Super Rugby, and HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens.

“We are extremely proud of our achievements over the tenure of our contract, and we support SHPL’s decision to localize the Singapore National Stadium turf supply and maintenance contract. We would like to thank SHPL, Sport Singapore and all our supply chain partners for their support during our tenure,” said Hamish Sutherland, managing director of HG Sports Turf.

TEHC was involved with the stadium’s early startup teams in turf management and during HGST’s contract period it supported the latter with local resources at the venue and turf nursery. A panel of experts will be assembled to help TEHC to further develop and research pitch management at the National Stadium.

“We are honoured to contribute to our own stadium, and look forward to work closely with Singapore Sports Hub to deliver on all aspects of the turf moving forward,” said Dick Toh, managing director of TEHC International.
