MLS side invests hundreds of millions in new district

Major League Soccer (MLS) team FC Cincinnati (FCC) has appointed a master plan architect, master development partner, construction, and other partners for a US$300 million, mixed-use district north of TQL Stadium.

Phase one of construction is underway with the demolition of the former Tri-State warehouse, the former Cincinnati Ballet building, and a former beer storage building.

FC Cincinnati has pledged to meet or exceed the city and Port’s inclusion goals for construction of this project. This is a major milestone for the club, which only installed turf on its playing ground a little over two years ago.

“We look to RIOS to create a community hub at the front steps of TQL Stadium, rooted in history and legacy, that aesthetically inspires and unites our city with a bold and inclusive vision for the future,”  said Jeff Berding, co-CEO of FC Cincinnati.

FCC has tapped Los Angeles-based RIOS as Master Plan Architect to lead the design.

“From day one community input has been important to FC Cincinnati, and we believe RIOS’ experience working with communities during the design process will result in an exciting, world-class district,” added Chad Munitz, Chief Development Officer, FC Cincinnati.

FC Cincinnati will partner with Marquee Development as Master Developer for the district. For a full list of project partners, see below.
