As of last week, the Kroenke Group is a partner in the redevelopment of the San Diego Sports Arena, a 48.5 acre site which encompasses Midway Rising, a project aimed at developing 4,000 housing units and a 16,000 seat arena.

Day-to-day redevelopment operations will be managed by Zephyr Partners, Legends and Chelsea Investment Corporation, all of whom are partners with the original Midway Rising team.

The team was selected by the City of San Diego in 2022 to redevelop the arena site, currently known as the Pechanga Arena.

“The Midway Rising project will continue growing our investment in the Southern California region,” said Jason Gannon, managing director of SoFi Stadium under Kroenke Group.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria added, “This announcement underscores that San Diego is a world-class city that can attract significant investment in projects and enterprises that elevate the community.”
