Albany officials keen on Louisville City FC stadium

City officials in Albany are attempting to sway the board of United Soccer League (USL) side Louisville City FC into building a new soccer-specific stadium in Southern Indiana, reports the News and Tribune.

However, the club’s chairman, John Neace, has released a statement on the team’s website stating that, despite the Albany interest, the club’s priority is for a stadium site in Louisville. The statement can be found below.

“Louisville City FC’s board continues moving forward with development of a soccer-specific stadium in Louisville. While other markets around the region have expressed interest, construction of a venue in Louisville is our priority. We plan to be part of the city’s growth and feel that a stadium in its urban core is best for our fan base and the club’s continued success.”
