English Premier League (EPL) soccer team Everton FC has revealed that plans for a new stadium are unlikely to materialise unless Liverpool City Council commits to a partnership, Eurosport reports.
The Premier League club has made no secret of its desire for a new ground to replace Goodison Park, and announced proposals for a new stadium at Walton Hall Park in September 2014. Progress, however, has stalled on the project.

Everton chief executive Robert Elstone has blamed the delay on Liverpool City Council. The stadium plan, the club’s officials insist, will spark large-scale regeneration in the north of Liverpool – however the club claims to be awaiting confirmation of the council’s involvement in the proposed development.
