Atlanta Braves announce F&B and entertainment concepts for The Battery Atlanta

American baseball team Atlanta Braves will introduce eight new restaurant, retail and entertainment concepts to the line-up at The Battery Atlanta, with several first-to-market entrants including Wahlburgers, Kings Bowl and The Cordish Companies’ Live! concept.

The Braves and retail partner Fuqua Development have announced that all eight tenants are set to be completed by opening day in 2017. The commitments are from: Wahlburgers, a burger concept from the Wahlberg brothers; Kings Bowl, an upscale, retro bowling and entertainment destination; Live!, a dining/entertainment destination developed by The Cordish Companies and designed by Jeffrey Beers International; Goldbergs Bagel Company & Deli, an Atlanta staple for bagels and sandwiches; Mountain High Outfitters, an outdoor specialty store; Sugarboo Designs, an boutique with household items and gifts; DressUp, a women’s fashion boutique; and Harley-Davidson, with a retail-only store.

“This blend of retailers and restaurants will help us create the 24/7, 365-day-a-year environment we’re aiming for at The Battery Atlanta,” says Derek Schiller, president, business, Atlanta Braves. “We’re very excited to have a bunch of firsts for this market, including Wahlburgers and Kings Bowl. Additionally, The Cordish Companies have been an industry leader in creating vibrant spaces that have set a new standard for entertainment in partnership with professional sports venues.”

Fuqua development principal, Jeff Fuqua adds, “The impressive list of businesses that we are announcing clearly shows that The Battery Atlanta is already a magnet for top-notch local and national retailers, entertainment uses and restaurants. And there is more to come. We expect to make great announcements soon as we work with the Braves to enrich the mix of businesses featured at The Battery Atlanta.”

“We think The Battery Atlanta will be the absolute destination around the Atlanta area with the new park and all the other things they’ll have in that development which is so exciting to me,” says Mark Wahlberg, actor and partner in Wahlburgers. “For our family, it’s a great opportunity to be at The Battery Atlanta, so we’re thrilled.”

The Cordish Companies are developing a custom venue for the Braves. Cordish operates Live! venues at major ballparks across the country, including Xfinity Live! at the Philadelphia Flyers’ Philadelphia Stadium Complex and Ballpark Village with the St Louis Cardinals. At The Battery Atlanta, Cordish will develop a two-level Sports & Social Club that will feature a 40ft diagonal, high-definition LED screen as a backdrop for social games and activities throughout the venue that also will include PBR Bar & Grill (branded for Professional Bull Riders Association) and an acclaimed chef-driven concept to be announced at a later date.

“The Braves are one of the iconic brands in all of sports and The Battery Atlanta promises to be a premier mixed-use development,” said Reed S Cordish, vice president of The Cordish Companies. “We are proud to partner with the Braves to bring our Live! concept, which will be a major entertainment draw for The Battery Atlanta and all of the region.”
