Purchasing system transfer for Barnsley FC

0

Barnsley FC in the UK has moved its purchasing procedures online, enabling managers to place, view and authorize purchase orders from any location, at any time.

Over 200 suppliers are already on the ‘purchase to pay’ cloud-based system supplied by Cloud B2B Solutions. Supplier invoices are matched to POs, and when approved, the relevant data is extracted and sent to the club’s accounting system with value-based approval workflows by department. Mistakes have been eliminated and budgets can be better controlled, while reporting is much improved, according to the club.

The previous purchasing system used a traditional paper-based format that was labor-intensive, and prone to errors and delays. The decision was taken to develop a more modern, efficient alternative to bring procurement procedures into line with a more modern approach to club management. Following a trial period, Cloud B2B Solutions developed a bespoke ‘purchase to pay’ system for the club.

Robert Zuk, finance director at Barnsley FC, said, “We can already see the benefits of a much-improved procurement process, and believe that this will see us well placed for the future development of the club.”
