British band Oasis has expressed its deep shock and sadness following the death of a man who fell during the band’s concert at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday night.

According to the Metropolitan Police, emergency services were called to the venue shortly before 10:30pm after reports of an injured individual. A man in his 40s was discovered with injuries consistent with a fall and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or individuals who may have recorded the incident on their phones to come forward.

In a statement, Oasis said: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at last night’s show. Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of the person involved.”

The concert was part of the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour—their first in 16 years—which began on 4 July in Cardiff. Saturday’s performance marked the fourth of seven scheduled shows at Wembley Stadium.

Sunday’s concert went ahead as planned.
