London Stadium opens ‘first of its kind’ event space in UK

London Stadium has introduced an open-air event space that provides a deck area inside the main bowl where up to 1,000 attendees can watch sports or host parties next to the iconic stadium’s field.

The North Scoreboard Deck is an area that is available to hire for corporate events and parties with guests able to take in the pitch and impressive surroundings of the former Olympic Stadium while watching a sports screening, or a performance on a stage while on the deck. Government Covid regulations can be safely managed within the outdoor space, while shielded from the weather by the Stadium roof, in one of London’s biggest covered outdoor event spaces.

In addition, the Premier League football pitch will be available to hire from the end of the current season, including the full match-day experience, with home and away dressing rooms, a tunnel walk, and high spec LED scoreboards. Post-match hospitality packages including the North Scoreboard Deck can be included with pitch hire for bespoke screenings, such as watching this year’s Olympic events within the 2012 stadium, or to play a game of football on a Premier League pitch before watching a Euro 2020 match.

The Stadium Island remains another distinctive feature of the site, with 20,000 m2 of event space available to hire for music and food festival set-ups, with multiple stages and retail outlets, or mass participation sports events combining brand and experiential activations.

The multi-use stadium has hosted the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the London 2017 World Athletics Championships, the 2019 Major League Baseball London Series, Premier League football, international and Premiership rugby and concerts.

Graham Gilmore, CEO, London Stadium, said: “The adaptability of our stadium allows us to adjust to the current situation and provide something extra special for our guests when they return. The spectacular North Scoreboard Deck creates a new opportunity for screenings or VIP experiences in bowl, while enjoying the incredible scenery of the venue. Add the chance to play on the world class pitch, and you have an outstanding offering for visitors this summer.”
