Stadia readers believe naming rights deals can be of value to college sports venues

Last month’s poll question asked whether naming rights deals had any place in college sports, or if they represented a valuable revenue stream that should be tapped wherever possible.

The issue remains one that provokes plenty of debate – just this week, it emerged that Twickenham was considering selling the naming rights to the home of English rugby – and Stadia readers were evenly split.

After the end of voting, 42% of respondents felt that naming rights deals detract from the history and heritage of college sports venues, and have no place in the industry. However, 52% of votes believed that naming rights represent a valuable potential source of income that schools cannot afford to pass up.
