Major League Soccer side, Columbus Crew SC has transformed its playing surface at MAPFRE Stadium into a custom-designed message to show its appreciation to those who are working during the Covid-19 crisis.

Ohio-based sports turf company The Motz Group implemented the giant message that spans across the field. It includes the club’s logo, an outline of the state of Ohio, and underneath the words ‘Thank you’ along with the hashtag #InThisTogether in an appreciative nod to ‘all those serving our neighbors, businesses and the entire the state during this time’.

This video shows the groundskeepers working on the grass surface at the empty stadium to create the message, which is gradually revealed with each pass of the mower.
