New turf laid for XFL’s Houston Roughnecks at TDECU Stadium


Watch every phase of the turf installation process at the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium as it prepares to be the home venue for XFL team the Houston Roughnecks.

To ensure the new XFL season gets underway without a slip, a new turf field is being laid at John O’Quinn Field at the TDECU Stadium. While the 40,000-seater venue is home of the college’s Cougars football program, now in the off-season it is the host for Houston Roughneck XFL home games.

This timelapse video shows every stage of the process of new turf installation – from stripping the old turf, to preparing the sub base, re-laying new turf, manicuring and painting the yardage lines and XFL centerfield logo.
