Emerald Headingley Stadium has unveiled the completed renovations of its function room, private dining areas and facilities as part of its masterplan to transform the venue into a world leading sports destination.
Home to both a cricket ground and rugby stadium, which back on to each other, the venue has the interesting feature of a dual facing hospitality stand that provides panoramic views over both pitches, and facilities to cater for both.
To provide fans with a more modern experience, the venue’s organizers have renovated dining and function areas to take the facility to a premium level and present a totally new look from before.
The stadium commissioned interior design specialists Nanu Soda for the project to take a completely new look and a plan for the facility, utilizing the company’s established reputation for cutting edge bar and restaurant design. The company was on site for over three months managing every aspect of the renovations from washroom specifications to bar functionality.
“This refurbishment was a vital part of our work to totally transform the stadium,” said Sue Ward, head of operations at Emerald Headingley Stadium. “The scheme designed by Nanu Soda demonstrated their in-depth understanding not just of our aspirations but also of how the facility would work best going forward, creating a world class, exciting and welcoming space with the flexibility to match our varied hospitality requirements.”
Bespoke carpeting and individually designed light fittings have enhanced the room, highlighted by a curved feature wall. The bar uses a pewter finish to create an interesting and practical surface texture and effect.
The space also houses eight-seater booths with smoked mirror details to the rear and bespoke lighting above. Light box wall panels in the bar area also feature a large TV to show the sporting action.
The team from Nanu Soda has also recreated the private dining areas, which overlook the rugby pitch. Here, bespoke lighting features, handmade natural fiber wallpapers, and parquet floors have totally transformed the two suites.
