3D-printed model of Hard Rock Stadium helps police with Super Bowl security

Students at Florida International University have created a 3D model of the Miami Dolphin’s Hard Rock Stadium for law enforcement to prepare for Super Bowl LIV.

The detailed model, which measures 4ft by 5ft, is accurate down to the millimeter and shows the intricacies of the stadium’s bowl, concourses, and public areas. It is the first time Miami-Dade police have employed such a method for training ahead of a big event.

This video shows what work was involved to create it and how officers will be able to take advantage of the model to shore up security for Super Bowl LIV.
