If you’ve ever liked the idea of hitting a golf ball inside a Premier League stadium, this summer offers a rare chance. In July, fans will be able to tee off inside Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, just as The Open takes place nearby at Royal Birkdale.
From 16–19 July, Upper Deck Golf will transform the ground into a temporary course. Players will take shots from elevated positions in the stands, aiming for specially designed greens laid out across the pitch below.
The event marks Upper Deck Golf’s first venture outside North America. The company has previously staged similar experiences at major venues including Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees, and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Visitors at Hill Dickinson Stadium will also be able to follow live coverage of the 154th Open Championship during their session, linking the stadium experience with one of golf’s biggest events happening just a few miles away.
Everton’s Chief Revenue Officer Aaron Duckmanton said the club was pleased to bring the concept to its new home, describing it as a fresh way for fans to experience the stadium. “It’s been hosted at some of the world’s most iconic venues, and this gives people the chance to see our stadium from a completely different perspective,” he said.
On the pitch, Everton are also enjoying a solid campaign. The club currently sit eighth in the Premier League, just a point behind Chelsea, and remain in contention for a European qualification place.
