The Buffalo Bills have acknowledged fan feedback regarding sightlines from a small number of seats following the first public event at the new Highmark Stadium.
More than 50,000 fans attended the annual Return of the Blue & Red training camp practice on Saturday, marking the first opportunity for personal seat licence (PSL) holders to experience the new venue from their allocated seats. Following the event, some fans shared images on social media highlighting partially obstructed views from certain seating locations.
In a statement, the Bills said:
“Thank you to Bills Mafia for setting a new attendance record with more than 50,000 fans at the Return of the Blue & Red. Saturday’s practice was a great opportunity to test the new stadium. We are currently addressing internal and external feedback regarding the facility’s operation following the first event. We’ll utilise the next six weeks to refine any details as we prepare for the home opener on Thursday, September 17.”
According to the team, feedback relating to sightlines has been received from fewer than one per cent of PSL holders. The Bills also noted that some of the images circulating online show views from seats that will not be used for NFL games and are intended for other events the stadium is expected to host in the future.
A crowd of 51,807 attended Saturday’s practice, with the new stadium having a capacity of 60,108. Two preseason games and an additional open practice are scheduled to take place at the venue before the Bills’ home opener on 17 September.
