The recently-launched FIFA Quality Programme for Floodlights has gained its first FIFA Preferred Provider in Musco Lighting, after the installation of a Musco-designed LED lighting system at Anfield, the home ground of Liverpool Football Club.

The lighting system at Anfield is the first in the world certified under the FIFA Quality Programme, which is a designation to establish an elevated and consistent standard for stadium lighting to ensure the best possible match night experience for players and fans.

The FIFA Quality Programme for Floodlights has been developed in collaboration with football associations, lighting industry leaders, and test institutes across the globe. It’s designed to support stadium owners around the world in their selection of floodlighting systems that meet specified standards of quality and performance.

As the first-ever FIFA Preferred Provider of Floodlight under the FIFA Quality Programme, Musco custom designed the system at Anfield with the most advanced LED stadium lighting technology, achieving superior uniformity of light distributed across the pitch for better visibility, minimized glare, and cutting-edge special effects and light show capabilities.

The system will also reduce energy consumption at Anfield by 25 percent compared to the stadium’s previous metal halide lighting.

“This programme and system is all about ensuring a consistent standard of excellence at major stadiums and events across the globe through more effective, efficient, and responsible lighting,” said Chris Limpach, Musco’s Director of Europe, Middle East, and Africa Business. “We couldn’t be more proud to be FIFA’s first ever Preferred Provider for Floodlights under the FIFA Quality Programme and we look forward to helping create world-class stadium experiences together.”
