Soccer team Inter Miami CF has agreed a new partnership with Brazilian financial services company Nu, which will take the naming rights to the club’s new stadium currently under construction near Miami International Airport.
The venue, to be known as Nu Stadium, will have a capacity of 26,700 and is expected to host its first match on April 4.
Financial details of the agreement, announced on Wednesday, were not disclosed, although the club confirmed it is a multi-year partnership.
As part of the deal, Nu will also feature on Inter Miami’s match jerseys from August. The club’s shirts are among the best-selling in global football, boosted significantly by the worldwide popularity of star player Lionel Messi.
Nu, a digital-first bank with around 131 million customers across Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, is currently expanding into the United States market. Earlier this year, the company also announced a partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team.
