Glasgow Rangers Football Club has begun work at its historic Ibrox Stadium following the end of the season, with a range of renovation and restoration projects now underway.
The programme combines supporter-focused improvements with heritage preservation, as the club looks to modernise key areas while protecting the character of its historic home.
Several of the projects were first outlined earlier this year and are being supported in part by investment from the Club 1872 heritage fund.
One of the most noticeable changes for supporters will be in the Copland Rear Stand, where existing balustrades are being replaced with glass panels to provide clearer sightlines of the pitch.
Significant work is also taking place within the Bill Struth Main Stand. Planned improvements include repairs to the iconic façade, replacement of timber elements and ongoing compliance inspections on the listed structure.
Inside the stadium, the Members Lounge is being refurbished with new seating, flooring, LED lighting and decorative upgrades. The trophy room is also being refreshed with improved lighting and extensive redecoration.
Elsewhere, the John Greig Ibrox Disaster Memorial statue will be restored and rewaxed, while dedicated lighting is planned for the Walter Smith statue, subject to council approval.
Additional heritage projects include refreshed photographic displays, restoration of wooden panelling and upgrades to facilities across the wider Ibrox estate.
Much of the work is expected to be completed ahead of the 2026/27 season.
While these projects do not involve a new stand or major expansion, they represent a significant investment in both the matchday experience and the long-term preservation of Ibrox.
For Rangers supporters, many of the upgrades address areas that have required attention for some time, while ensuring the stadium’s unique history and identity remain at the forefront.
Taken together, the improvements may not dramatically change the appearance of Ibrox, but they should help secure the future of one of British football’s most iconic stadiums while preserving the heritage that makes it so distinctive.
