Rose Bowl to host LA 2028 soccer finals as six venues confirmed

The men’s and women’s football finals at the LA 2028 Olympic Games will be staged at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, while six additional venues have now been confirmed for group-stage and knockout matches.

Those stadiums are spread across the United States, giving even more supporters the chance to be part of the LA 2028 experience.

All six newly announced venues are home to MLS clubs: New York City FC’s new stadium in Queens, along with the home grounds of Columbus Crew, Nashville SC, St. Louis City SC, San Jose Earthquakes and San Diego FC, will all host Olympic fixtures.

“Taking Olympic Football group-stage and knockout matches to stadiums across the United States allows more fans to witness this global event and experience the Olympic spirit first-hand,” said Shana Ferguson, LA28 Chief of Sport and Games Delivery Officer. “With the LA28 ticket draw for all Olympic sports approaching, we’re encouraging football fans worldwide to register now for the opportunity to secure their place at a historic summer in 2028.”

Tournament organisers added that matches will follow a travel-efficient structure, with the competition designed to move progressively from east to west as teams advance, reducing travel demands.

That means a team could play group matches in New York City, a knockout fixture in St. Louis, and then head west for the final near Los Angeles. The women’s tournament will feature 16 teams, while 12 teams will compete in the men’s competition.

Fans can apply for tickets now, with the men’s final scheduled for 28 July 2028 and the women’s final on 29 July 2028. Full tournament schedules, including match dates and stadium allocations, are set to be confirmed before the first ticket release in April 2026
